Chablis
Chablis is the “Golden Door of Burgundy”, 180 km away from Paris, going South-Est. Its vineyards cover more than 5400 hectares, over 18 villages representing the following appellations :
- Petit Chablis (1010 Ha)
- Chablis (3540 Ha)
- 1ers Crus (786 Ha / 40 climats)
- Grands Crus (100 Ha / 7 climats)
Composed 100% of Chardonnay grape variety, Chablis terroir takes its unique typicity from a soil called “Kimmeridgien″, made of layers of limestone and clay 240 million year-old and keeping in its layers ammonites and fossilized oysters (ostrea virgula) that give to it such a unique expression along with minerality and purity to the wines.
